Outdoor Classroom Workshops
OCP workshops are designed to provide inspiration, information, and resources that support early childhood professionals in creating and enhancing outdoor programs and environments at their sites. We cover a broad range of subject matter that generally falls into one or more of three groups:
- Outdoor Classroom Fundamentals provides fundamental and essential information about the elements of the Outdoor Classroom, why it is needed, and how to create it. This includes the design and construction of the physical environment.
- Outdoor Classroom Program, Activities & Curriculum covers what happens in the Outdoor Classroom and how teachers can facilitate it.
- Teacher Qualities & Skills includes workshops on teacher skills and qualities required to create and work effectively in the Outdoor Classroom.
We regularly add new workshops and revise the existing ones based on research and our time in the field, as well as in response to specific requests. All of our workshops can be offered individually, in groups as part of a larger conference, or on a stand-alone basis. They can be provided to a diverse group or specifically for the staff of one center. We also offer all workshops in Spanish upon request. Please contact us for more information.
