Philosophy Statement

At Santa Margarita Children’s Center (SMCC), we understand that PLAY is a critical part of childhood. It weaves together all the elements of life as a child experiences it and provides them opportunities to digest and understand the world as they see it. Our teachers recognize that for children ages 0 to 5, development and learning outdoors is often easier and more beneficial than it is outdoors. Using the outdoors as an extension of our inside preschool space provides children lots of opportunity to move, play, explore. Children can experience the outdoors with a variety of equipment and engaging activities that cannot be duplicated inside, allowing children the optimal environment for learning and growing.

We understand that PLAY is a critical part of childhood.
