Philosophy Statement

Our developmental school is somewhat eclectic in theory. One thing that should be accomplished for each child in our program is an awareness of their world. So much of our world is happening around us outside of the classroom. We support the importance of bringing the outdoors inside, and we build every aspect of our curriculum around the outdoors.

It is our aspiration to offer hands-on exploration and experience that allow children to opportunity to need math, language, science, and art as means of getting their own questions answered, or representing their ideas and thoughts. The materials we choose for our outdoor spaces are the supplies for such studies.

In our outdoor environment children can use the space to get to know their bodies’ movement and capacity, exercise their creativity through dance and art mediums, build from the pictures in their memories or lay down and feel the sun as they read a book and relax throughout the day.

We want to allow children the opportunity to grow in their self-awareness, social skills, and confidence.

One thing that should be accomplished for each child in our program is an awareness of their world. So much of our world is happening around us outside of the classroom.

Additional Info

The Universal Studios Child Care Center demonstrates high quality outdoor curriculum through the unique and inviting child centered areas that we’ve created. These spaces in our outdoor classroom support autonomy to children and teachers to embrace emerging interests that nature and outdoor time brings them on a daily basis. Our full-day program gives children long periods of time outside with a philosophy that encourages exploration and curiosity as well as taking risk.
