Philosophy Statement

At Palisades Presbyterian Preschool our philosophy is that all children need and benefit from more time outdoors and the full development and integration of an outdoor program creates the optimal learning and growing environment for young children. Our Outdoor Classroom provides for physical activity, hands-on learning, and socialization through peer interaction. The Outdoor Classroom Project uses a multifaceted approach to cognitive development that maximizes children’s success in learning.

We believe that anything that can be accomplished inside a classroom can be completed outside the classroom.

Additional Info

At Pali Pres we understand the benefits the Outdoor Classroom provides for the children we serve. We want to share this knowledge with our parents and community to support and encourage children to fundamentally love being outdoors and live a life filled with the benefits nature provides. We accomplish this by having the children spend a good portion of their time

outdoors. We believe that anything that can be accomplished inside a classroom can be completed outside the classroom. Therefore, block play, reading books, working with a variety of art mediums and using our gross and fine motors skills take on a whole new meaning and purpose outside.
