A Child's Place

Philosophy Statement

At A Child’s Place our goal is to introduce the wonder of learning through nature at a young age. In addition to promoting the cognitive, physical, social and emotional well-being of each child, we encourage the appreciation of our earth and its natural resources. Our emphasis is on the value of nature and respect for all living things in our world.

We embrace soggy, messy, ooey-gooey, and slimy learning and fun. If your child does not come home dirty, mucky, gritty and grimy, then it was a slow day at school.

Additional Info

A Child’s Place was started in 1977. Nothing on the outside would indicate the environment you will find once you step through the gate. Parents and children are thrilled by the laughter that can be heard continuously throughout the day coming from both inside and out. The staff has been working together for many years and we place a high value on their ability to play. The familial feeling is palpable. We are creating an environment where children can comfortably explore, examine and endeavor to try new things. We realize that failure and success contribute equally to their learning process and development. Their natural curiosity will allow them to soar.
